Example of Competitive Sweep Rowing:
You don't have to speak Dutch to know these guys are flying. Race starts at about 2:00 in this video. Great view from the coxswain's seat, the person in an 8 or 4 man boat who steers and executes the race strategy.

Right here in Palm Beach:

Scullers from local clubs wrap up a row under PGA Bridge.

NPBRC starts all new rowers by first learning to scull (above), since it teaches you to move and safely handle a single rowing shell without the distraction or assistance of others.

The next step after Learn to Row is to join the club as a member and become part of our Novice Group, which meets once a week for additional coaching and allows you to access the site to continue to scull on your own or with others. Members of our Novice group can make the switch to sweep rowing or continue sculling - or both!

Those who opt to row competitively after honing their technique can join our competitive squads and show what they've got on a racecourse. Those who want to continue rowing recreationally can hop in with a rec group or continue under the guidance of a coach.

See our "Membership" page for more details on options within the club after you complete your Learn to Row class.
