SAFESPORT GUIDELINES

At North Palm Beach Rowing Club, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that supports the physical, emotional, and social development of every athlete. As a proud member of USRowing, we adhere strictly to the SafeSport guidelines established by the U.S. Center for SafeSport and USRowing. These standards are designed to prevent all forms of misconduct—including bullying, harassment, hazing, emotional and physical abuse, and sexual misconduct—ensuring that our club remains a place where athletes of all ages can thrive.

Our coaches, staff, and volunteers are required to complete annual SafeSport training through their US Rowing membership, which includes a 90-minute core course followed by yearly refresher modules. This training equips them to recognize, prevent, and respond appropriately to misconduct. Additionally, we implement the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP), which set clear boundaries for adult-minor interactions, limit one-on-one contact, and establish standards for training and communication. These proactive measures are essential to maintaining a culture of safety and accountability within our rowing community.

We encourage all athletes, parents, and community members to familiarize themselves with SafeSport resources and to report any concerns promptly. Reports can be submitted directly to the U.S. Center for SafeSport or through USRowing’s reporting channels. Our club is committed to transparency and will take all reports seriously, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in response. By working together and upholding these standards, we aim to create a positive and supportive environment where every athlete feels safe and empowered to reach their full potential.
