MEET OUR COACHES

Emre Cikinci
Volunteer Head Youth Coach
Emre Cikinci has earned more than 200 National and International awards in rowing including on the Turkish National Rowing Team for 10 seasons. As a young athlete, Emre won the Mediterranean Cup in 2005 and earned spots on Under-23 (U23) World Championship teams twice in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, he won the bronze medal from the World Military games in Poland. Emre joined NPBRC as a masters athlete in 2022 and now volunteers with our Youth Program. He is a US Rowing level 2 certified coach and his time supporting NPBRC’s youth team has been marked by a calm and steady demeanor with athletes of all ages and abilities. Emre creates a culture where young athletes can thrive and grow into confident, responsible teammates.
Justus Elliott
Head Masters Coach and Assistant Youth Coach
Justus Elliott is the head masters coach and head middle school coach at North Palm Beach Rowing Club. He’s spent his entire life around the sport of rowing and first started in a boat at the age of 8 in his hometown of Port Dalhousie in Ontario, Canada. He continued to row there through the end of his freshman year of high school. During that year, he rowed stroke seat in a 4+ that won the freshman provincial championships and went on to earn 4th place in the national championships later that year. He joined NPBRC in his junior year of high school when he moved to West Palm Beach. He continued to row until graduation and then worked as a volunteer coach during his 4 years at Palm Beach Atlantic University before joining as an assistant coach upon graduating.
Bennett Rossell
Assistant Coach
Bennett Rossell is an assistant coach at North Palm Beach Rowing Club and an accomplished alumni of the club’s youth program. A lifelong rower, Bennett also competed with Sarasota Crew and was a standout athlete on the national and international stage. In 2019, he earned a silver medal at the USRowing Youth National Championships in the Men’s Youth 8+ and helped set a record at the CanAmMex Games. As a coxswain for the U.S. Rowing mixed quad during the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Portugal, Bennett led his crew to a thrilling bronze-medal finish, narrowly edging out Sweden by just 0.21 seconds. His experience spans both traditional and coastal rowing disciplines, showcasing his versatility and leadership under pressure. Bennett graduated from Stetson University in DeLand, FL with a degree in Investments Finance and a minor in Professional Sales. While at Stetson, he captained the Division I Men’s Rowing Team, earning accolades such as the 2022 “Iron Hatter” Award and a nomination for USRowing’s Athlete of the Year. He led his team to a first-place finish at the 2023 Head of the Charles.



Lucas Rossell
Assistant Coach
Lucas Rossell is an assistant coach at North Palm Beach Rowing Club and an alumnus of the club's youth program, which he graduated from in 2018. A USRowing Level 2 certified coach, he has been involved in the sport since 2014, rowing at five different clubs and learning from an even larger number of coaches along the way. As a youth athlete, he earned a silver medal in the Lightweight 4+ at the FSRA Sweep State Championships and reached A finals at the USRowing Club National Championships. He went on to row for the men's club team at the University of Central Florida, a student-run program where he served as head of recruiting before being elected president for two years, and graduated with a degree in Computer Science. As a freshman in the Novice Lightweight 4+, he earned a silver medal at the SIRA Regatta and reached the A final at the ACRA National Championships. In his senior season, he stroked the Varsity 8+ to a top-10 finish at the Head of the Hooch and raced against his own brother, Bennett, in the Varsity 8+ final at SIRA. Lucas first coached at NPBRC during the summers of 2018 and 2019, taking crews to the Canadian Henley and advancing boats to the semifinals. After a short hiatus to finish his degree and start his career, he returned to coaching in 2026.
Jacob Seymour
Assistant coach
Jacob Seymour is an assistant coach at North Palm Beach Rowing Club. He started rowing in 2023 at Penn State University. During his freshman season, he received a first place finish at Head of the Ohio and was a part of the Men’s Novice 8 who placed third at the 2024 Dad Vail Regatta. Jacob started volunteer coaching at NPBRC in fall 2025 before transitioning to part of the coaching team.
